Learning Outcomes
  • Communication basics
  • Computer networks principles
  • Internet and its associated protocols
  • Network applications
  • LAN technologies
Methodologies
  • Integrated knowledge achieved through theoretical lectures and practical exercises and experiments
  • The site supports the student in his/her learning path allowing to anticipate the topics that will be treated during the classes or "re-walk" through the treated topics after class
  • The course offers an overview of computer networks and the Internet. Moreover, it focuses on the specific layers of the Internet model, i.e., application, transport, network, link and physical.
Learning path
Both theory and practice are essential for an integrated and complete learning of computer networks and must advance at the same speed. Nevertheless, the topics can be analysed bottom-up, from physical to application, or top-down, from application to physical. Below are the links to the different topics.
