THE WORKSHOP

tutors: Fabio Alfano, Sebastiano Triscari, Giovanni Francesco Tuzzolino

The theme proposed is a house project that besides its traditionally domestic dimension, allows who lives inside to get in touch, in a symbolic way with an angel, and therefore with everything this figure (today) represents. The angel figure is, actually, one of the symbols of our modernity. The angel is a different point of view, out of the ordinary schemes, it is a symbol of mediation, of conjunction between different realities and dimensions, a communicator of everything resulting intangible according to his nature. The angel is also research, boundlessness in hided fields.

Reality and unreality. concreteness and abstraction, specificity and generality. Ordinarity and extraordinarity, immanence and transcendence, finiteness and infiniteness... and all the other contradictions characteristic of being man, apparent and not, find a convergence, resolution and expression in this very figure.

The angel's house, therefore, proposes itself as a house of research, introspection, discovery, questions asked, doubts, tensions towards, but also of falls, pauses,... a set of spaces where man can operate a process of integration of all the components configuring his existence.

The rooms composing this house, recognizable by forms and contents, also allow to carry out functions like looking for, knowing, thinking, contemplating. Expressing oneself, meditating, praying, imagining, dreaming, meeting,... and everything needed by man to "make live" every part of his being.

His spatial and formal dimension creates a set of relations at more levels that determine the most suitable conditions for the realisation of the living activities forecast.}
